When are anaerobic sealants used? The direct product packaging contains the date of bottling in the form of a numerical code with the coding YYWWBBBB (year, week, batch number).

Why does surplus sealant outside the application area of an anaerobic sealant not harden? With anaerobic sealants, the hardening is activated via absence of air in combination with contact with metal. Surplus anaerobic sealant material that remains outside the application area is not activated for hardening and remains liquid. The sealant material in the sealing area hardens with the absence of air.
El-Add 48 (green) is a thin bonding compound (with high breakaway torque), which is particularly well suited for securing bearings and shafts. El-Fil 77 (yellow) is a pipe thread seal (up to M80) and is suitable for applications at low temperatures, such as maintenance work outdoors on industrial plants. After installation with EL-Add 48 / EL-Fil 77 / EL-Liq 73 / EL-Liq 74 / EL-Loc 70 / EL-Loc 43, recommissioning is possible after 3-6 hours.
First remove residues of the old sealant from the surface. Coarse residues can be removed extremely effectively with hot air (approx. 250°C) and a brush. Finer residues should be removed with a cloth and ideally with isopropyl (isopropyl alcohol) or brake cleaner.
